Better than Halloween

Schools were dismissed at 2:00 today for the homecoming parade so I was able to take the boys. After freaking out at the beginning of the parade because the siren on the fire truck scares him, Tyler had a great time waving at all of the participants and catching candy. We were standing at the beginning of the parade route so the high school kids were anxious to start throwing it. He racked up and our treat bucket is full once again! He said his cousin Payton threw the "bestest bubble gum" from the cheerleader's float and cousin Kelsey "waved good" while she rode in one of the cars for senior homecoming court. Matthew enjoyed sitting in his stroller and watching all the action. He liked seeing his aunts, uncles, and cousins and being held during the parade. We had a nice afternoon together cheering on the Huskies.

All About Matthew

Matthew is 7 and a half months old and is still a happy baby. Although, we've learned that he's a bit lazy! He really has no interest in rolling over. He can do it. We've seen him roll a few times before but he just doesn't seem to want to roll. By this age, Tyler was all over the place...rolling to get what he wanted. Not Matthew. Maybe I should be thankful that he's still pretty stationery. I know it won't be long before he's all over the place. We lowered his bed tonight just in case he gets brave and tries to sit up soon. I keep thinking I'm going to go in his room one morning and he's going to be laying on his stomach or sitting up in his bed but not yet. I'm just wondering how long it's going to be before he's sitting up all by himself, pulling up, and crawling . Big brother is going to have a rude awakening when Matthew becomes mobile. His toys will no longer be safe! Here are a few pictures of Matthew from the past week...

Playing with bunny. He likes giving bunny kisses!
Look at those jaws!
Showing off his two teeth. Can you see them???
What about now???
This is what we see every morning. After his morning bottle, Matthew usually goes back to sleep in our bed. He wakes up while we're getting ready and just lays on the bed and watches us and smiles through his passy.

Tyler's First Homework

Last week Tyler had his very first homework assignment. He was assigned the letter of the week which happened to be the letter B. His job was to decorate the letter with things that begin with B. We talked about the B sound and went around the house finding things that begin with B. My original plan was to get on the Internet and print out some pictures for him to decorate his letter, but then I saw the camera. We ended up taking pictures of everything we could find that began with B. Tyler loved this idea. He was super excited to be able to use Mommy's camera! He got to hold it and push the buttons and everything. After I printed all the pictures , I cut them out and Tyler used a glue stick to glue them on to his letter. I helped arrange the pictures but he put glue on them and glued them in place. He was so proud of his letter and couldn't wait to share it at school. He even "dressed up" to share his letter. By dressing up, I mean he didn't wear his typical athletic shorts and t-shirt to school. He thought that was a big deal! I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to him getting older and having real homework. I enjoy the freedom of our evenings way too much right now!

What Exactly Do The Boys Do At Football Games???

So I'm sure many of you think we're absolutely insane because we take both Tyler and Matthew to the Alabama games when they're in Tuscaloosa. I have to admit that I do have my doubts from time to time, but we all end up having a great time! I don't think I'd know what to do without them there, especially Tyler. He absolutely loves going to the football games. Of course, he doesn't watch the entire game. He watches and plays and eats then watches some more and plays some more and eats some more. We are very fortunate in that our seats are the last ones in the section so we have a very wide area behind us that's not really a walk way but not a row either. It's a great place for Tyler to play. Here are a few pictures of the boys during the game this past weekend...

Tyler took his football men and was very happy to play his very own game while the real game was going on!

Matthew enjoys hanging out in the Baby Bjorn. I'll have quite the shoulder muscles by the end of the season. If only holding him could work my stomach muscles!

Tyler loves to eat at the game. His favorites are nachos and Lemon Chills.

Matthew can actually sleep through all the noise...he was out for over a quarter!

First Football Game As A Family of Four!

This weekend was Alabama's first home game and our first football game to take both boys. We've taken Tyler since he was 10 months old so taking Matthew at 7 months shouldn't be too difficult, right??? He was a good sport. He played for a while and then slept a while in the Baby Bjorn. Here are some pictures from the weekend...

Playing football in front of the stadium while waiting on the players to arrive. Playing football with buddy Daniel. Laura Ann and Matthew checking each other out. Trying to get four kids to look at the camera and smile...not an easy task! Tyler enjoying the game. His favorite part is still the Million Dollar Band. Happy Matthew enjoying the game and showing off his two new teeth! Tyler was exhausted after the game. He fell asleep on the way home. There he is laying on our bed while we unpacked the car and got Matthew in the bed.
Little did we know he'd wake up six short hours later with a nasty stomach virus...yuck! We'll venture down to Tuscaloosa for another game this Saturday. I'm sure there will be many more football posts before the season is over.
