Iron Bowl Saturday

While Matthew stayed home and played with Grandad on a rainy Saturday...

We took Tyler to his second Iron Bowl.

Here we are after sitting in the rain for a few hours. Nice hair!

This one was definitely more enjoyable than his first Iron Bowl two years ago! Roll Tide!

Matthew's 9 month pictures + Tyler's 4 year pictures = Christmas Pictures

We had pictures of the boys made when I was out of school for Veterans' Day. Matthew ended up being sick so his eyes look a little weak in the pictures but overall there are some cute pictures of him. We have the absolute best photographer ever. Her name is Erin and she was referred to us by a friend who's cousin used her. We first met Erin a year ago when I was pregnant with Matthew when we had Tyler's 3 year pictures made. Since then, we have had sessions with her every three months to have Matthew's first year pictures made. Of course, she always takes pictures of Tyler, too, so that's an added bonus. Enjoy our family pictures from November 11, 2008. You will see that it is nearly impossible to get both boys to cooperate at the same time.

Look Who's Crawling

Matthew finally started crawling on November 15th, close to 9 1/2 months old. I was beginning to wonder if he would ever crawl. Tyler started crawling just before he was 8 months old so, of course, I thought Matthew should follow the same track. I'm not sure why I was rushing the whole crawling thing. Life was much easier when Matthew would sit on the floor and play with his toys...he couldn't crawl out of the room or try to get his big brother's toys! Crawling has also made picture taking a lot more difficult. As soon as you set him down, he wants to crawl away, especially when I'm trying to take a picture of both boys together. Here's a few pictures of our Thanksgiving photo attempts...
Finally, I opted for separate Thanksgiving pictures, however I could get them...standing in Daddy's lap, laying in the driveway, whatever!
We had a great Thanksgiving, as I hope everyone else did. Now, we're looking forward to spending our day tomorrow watching the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide!

Tyler's Visit to Bryant Denny

As part of the Big Al Kid's Club, Tyler was able to tour Bryant Denny Stadium today. They took the kids into the locker room, through the tunnel, and out onto the field. Anybody who knows Tyler knows he was in heaven! He's always wanted to go onto the field to play and today he got the chance. He kicked off, scored a touchdown, and kicked a field goal. Here's our video from today...

Halloween Fun

Matthew enjoyed his first Halloween. We went to Trunk or Treat at First Baptist on Wednesday night. Matthew went as a pumpkin but it didn't fit very well. Friday night I remembered Tyler had an Alabama uniform when he was Matthew's age so I found that and Matthew was transformed into an Alabama football player just like big brother. He looked adorable in his uniform with the black under his eyes. He even has a football player stance...

Tyler had a fun Halloween, too. He had a fall festival at school where he played all kinds of games like ring toss and go fish. He came home with a grocery sack full of candy and prizes. On Halloween night, I was so excited to take him trick-or-treating. We set out to go door to door around our neighborhood when Tyler saw two boys with scary masks on. He was scared to death! We trick-or-treated to about five houses and then he was through. He would rather play football in the front yard and give out candy at home than to actually trick-or-treat.

Here's two more pictures of my tackling football players. Tyler actually looked like John Parker with that head full of hair (which by the way is getting cut today in a few short hours!).

The boys were inside in the bath by 7:30. I guess I should be thankful. I know as they get older they will want to trick-or-treat all night. Hope everyone had a happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Carving

The night before Halloween, we finally carved our pumpkins. Jason worked on the big one while Tyler and I carved his little one. Matthew tried to eat his small pumpkin while he played on the floor. Better late than never, right???
