Do you know why this baby is so happy?

Matthew slept for 8 hours straight last night and he's taken 2 wonderful naps today...one 2 1/2 hour nap and one 2 hour nap. You know I like schedules and this baby definitely needs to get on some sort of sleep routine. I hope we have more days like today. He is always a very happy baby but today he didn't even fuss when he was tired. If only I could say the same for Tyler today. After a day full of playing with Jeb at the zoo, Tyler did not take a nap. He actually laid in his bed for 2 hours and did not go to sleep. Someone is going to bed early tonight! And hopefully Matthew will sleep all night again. My fingers are crossed!

Matthew's First Cereal...A Little Early!

Matthew is not quite 4 months old yet (the youngest my doctor recommends giving babies cereal) but he is close enough! He sits at the table in his high chair with us while we eat dinner and he has started making chewing motions. He watches every bite of food we put in our mouths and fusses like he wants something to eat even though he has just finished a feeding. We gave him some cereal the other night after we ate dinner and he loved it! He has yet to drop a feeding but hopefully soon he will drop his early morning feeding (2:30-3:30 am) once he eats cereal consistently during the day. I guess we'll wait and see!

It's All About Sports!

With a house full of boys, I don't stand a chance! It seems like everything revolves around sports in our house already. Good thing I grew up playing softball and soccer and going to UAB basketball games and Atlanta Braves games with my dad. I've even grown to like football over the past few years thanks to my husband's love for Alabama football. As you can see, I've made two collages around the sports theme. I think I'm becoming addicted to Scrapblog! The first one is some highlights of Tyler's first year playing Tot Ball. Thanks to Grandad for taking so many good pictures of him this year! The second is of our brief trip to the Regions golf tournament a few weekends ago. Life is different with two kids...I think we spent more time eating lunch than we spent actually watching golf! It was fun, though, and Tyler enjoyed seeing "a golf game" as he calls it.

Memorial Day Fun!

Our Memorial Day was spent with friends and family. We took Tyler to the pool for the first time this year and he loved it, of course. He did good swimming with his Diego life jacket on and seems to have more control of his body when he wears it this year. I am seeing swim lessons in his near future! After nap, we went to cookout and play with some friends. Tyler and Matthew were the only boys in the bunch but they didn't seem to mind. Tyler enjoyed playing in the Slip and Slide while Matthew had fun just watching all of the big kids play. He'll be right in there with them soon enough! I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day. Summer is finally here!

Tyler's End of the Year Music Program

The week I went back to work was the busiest week I think we've ever had. That Tuesday, Tyler had his end of the year music program at "school". He had been talking about singing for weeks! I really didn't know what to expect. Last year, when he was up on the stage he was scared to death. In the middle of singing he yelled out "Ms. Sheryl, where's my mommy daddy?" and "Wow, that's a lot of people!" Everyone laughed. Once he finally found us, he was okay except for the fact that he kept trying to go behind the pulpit and he was in to everything up on stage while he sang! This year was a completely different scene. It's amazing how much he has changed in one year. My quiet, skittish child has become very outgoing! He loved singing in front of the crowd. His class sang several songs including Fishing for the Lord, Clap Your Hands, This Land is Your Land, and, Tyler's favorite, Yankee Doodle. He enjoyed putting on a show for all of his family that came to see him but I think his favorite part was the snacks that followed!

I'm Back!

So I've been MIA since I started back to work. I made it through my 3 weeks back at school with my 4th graders who were definitely ready for summer! I have so much to post. My goal is to make one post a day this week to update everyone on what's been going on in our lives over the past few weeks but it's late and I must go to sleep while my children are sleeping! I'll post some pictures of the boys tomorrow but, for now, it's bedtime for me!
